Leslie is the Founder of SOAR and served as the President of the board from 2013 - 2021. She currently serves as the Executive Director. A longtime human services professional, Leslie has worked in Frederick County’s senior services industry since 2000. She is the current Chair of the Aging Network Alliance, past member of the Frederick County Commission on Aging, past Chair of the Elder Expo. She has also volunteered her time with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Memory Walk and Gala committees. She has a passion for working with and for older adults and strives to be a vehicle for change in the senior industry.

Stephanie oversees SOAR’s food and nutrition programs, housing assistance, and Medical Equipment Center, helping ensure that older adults in our community have access to the resources they need to live safely and comfortably.

Stephanie first became involved with SOAR as a volunteer, spending a year serving seniors before joining the SOAR team. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and brings a genuine passion for helping and advocating for older adults.

Before joining SOAR, Stephanie was a stay-at-home mother who homeschooled her four children. She and her husband have called Frederick home for more than 30 years, and she is deeply committed to making a difference in the community she loves.

I first met Leslie and was immediately struck by her passion for serving seniors and the meaningful work SOAR is doing in the Frederick community. Inspired by that mission, I joined the volunteer shopping program in 2025. Having lived in Frederick for the past 10 years and worked in healthcare serving seniors throughout that time, I have developed a deep commitment to supporting older adults. Through my volunteer experience, I was grateful for the opportunity to join the SOAR staff, where I now continue that work in an even greater capacity. I am truly excited to serve the Frederick community alongside such a dedicated team. Outside of work, I am a proud mom and grandmother who cherishes time spent with family and friends.

Maggie serves as SOAR’s Grant Writer, bringing a strong commitment to strengthening the organization’s resources and supporting its mission through grant development and funding opportunities.

With a passion for the nonprofit sector and a dedication to helping seniors in need, Maggie focuses on securing essential funding that allows SOAR’s vital programs and services to continue reaching older adults throughout Frederick County.

Through her work, Maggie helps ensure that SOAR has the resources needed to meet the growing needs of seniors in our community and provide the support they need to live healthier, safer, and more comfortable lives.

Cirila has over 30 years of combined experience across accounting,economics, banking, business development and education. She served as a business development volunteer in the Peace Corps, an economist with the Bureau of Labor Statistics, stay-home and homeschooling mom, and an accountant for the past six years. She serves as Board Treasurer for the Frederick Children's Chorus and she is very excited to join SOAR and help with their mission.

Curt McGovern serves as a driver and provides safe transportation for our seniors. Curt is pursuing a degree in Physical Therapy currently and resides in Walkersville.
